Acer
A deciduous tree, commonly known as a maple, famously chosen for the vibrant autumn colours of reds/oranges/yellows and purples.
With popular varieties like the Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum) being compact for smaller gardens, while larger types like Norway Maple suit bigger landscapes, thriving in well-drained soil with sun or partial shade.
Prunus
Commonly known as ornamental cherries, Prunus trees are cherished for their spectacular spring blossom. We offer a wide range of sizes and forms, from graceful weeping varieties to slender, upright selections, with flowers ranging from simple single blooms to abundant doubles.
Flowering in spring, they create a breathtaking seasonal display, sometimes followed by small, dark red fruits. An excellent choice for adding elegance, colour and structure to gardens of all sizes.
Betula
Commonly known as the Silver Birch, this graceful deciduous tree has a light, airy shape with slender, gently drooping branches. It can grow up to 25 metres tall and makes an elegant feature in larger gardens.
Its white bark peels attractively as it matures, becoming darker and more textured at the base. The diamond-shaped green leaves turn bright yellow in autumn, adding seasonal colour. In early spring, yellow-brown catkins appear, bringing soft movement and interest before the leaves fully emerge.
Liquidamber
Commonly known as the Sweet Gum, Liquidambar is a striking deciduous tree that can grow up to 20 metres tall. It has a broadly conical shape and glossy, maple-like leaves with five to seven lobes.
In autumn, the foliage transforms into vibrant shades of orange, crimson and deep purple, creating a spectacular seasonal display. An excellent choice for adding strong structure and outstanding autumn colour to the garden.
Robinia
A beautiful and unusual deciduous tree, Robinia is admired for its distinctive twisted stems and gently curling foliage, giving it a sculptural, eye-catching form. Reaching up to 6 metres in height, it is well suited to smaller gardens where its character can be fully appreciated.
The leaves are fresh green, made up of many pairs of rounded leaflets, and turn soft yellow in autumn. In favourable conditions, it may also produce fragrant, wisteria-like flowers, adding further charm and seasonal interest.
